Tryston
My name is Tryston, and sometimes I just wish I could disappear. Everyone I have ever known abandons me. The world made me feel like I shouldn't exist like I wasn't worth sticking around for. And so I make myself so small that no one notices. And over and over again, they leave without notice or care.
I will show up for me. I deserve consistency.
when Tryston comes to visit
Children don't have the ability to perceive the world from another person's perspective other than their own. So when a parent works all day long to pay the bills, a child doesn't think, "My parents are doing their best and wish they could be with me." Instead, they think, "My parents are choosing work over me. Therefore I do not matter." A child can experience abandonment while still having two parents at home. It's important to acknowledge this part of your inner child today.
